Hi there!

My name is Tiffany Green. I’m a home educating mom of two who has called North Carolina home for more than 20 years. I went to community college in Durham, I went to undergraduate university in Greensboro, I completed my masters in Raleigh, and I’m currently in school right now at a university in Charlotte. NC has raised me and educated me and I’ve had the great opportunity to make the Raleigh/Garner the place where I raise my family. NC is a beautiful place to live and many of the local parks are great places to explore.

The goal of this Park Club is to bring homeschooled children together to play at local parks so that they and their parents (us) can begin to create relationships and community. If this is an idea you like, great! ME TOO!

PARK DAYS INFORMATION:

• Most park meetups will be free-play days. This means the park is the activity.

• Some park meetups will be for specific activities and crafts.

Who operates/runs The Homeschool Park Club?

Me (Tiffany). I’m a one woman show. I get help from my family planning activities but the emails, Facebook management, digital creation, website creation, activity supplies, and coordination…It’s all me with the assistance of my husband mostly loading and unloading car (He’s the best!).

Why is this club free?

It’s not. You may not pay with dollar bills/green backs/buckaroos but a more important currency is your time. When we come together and share our time it cultivates community. In community, we share responsibilities and resources. Every season, other parents volunteer to bring chalk, bubbles, activities and more. I may not lead with the goal of gaining your paper money but when you participate I get your time (priceless) and community (an amazing gift).

If you are interested in donating, you can do so here but it is never mandatory. Perhaps you can think of other ways to contribute. You could bring snacks, water, bubbles, chalk, or volunteer an activity or game.

Can I sell my services to members of your club?

NO. This is a firm no. The purpose of this club is play for the children and park days are not to be used for solicitation of your service. To try to sell your services during these events this would be disrespectful and inappropriate.

Come to a meetup, feel free to share about yourself and chat about homeschool resources or personal interests. Hopefully, you and your child/children will leave with new meaningful connections.
